These variables create a behavioral norm unique only to the group and perpetuate to the next generation.The American people express their culture through traditions in food, clothing, recreation, and ceremonies; through the education system and institutions of learning, including museums and libraries; and through the arts, encompassing the visual, literary, and performing arts. This paper provides an insight on the impact of social, political and economic structures on the American culture. It will also outline how their social contract: constitution has affected their culture. IntroductionAmerican culture encompasses the customs and traditions of the United States, including language, religion, food and the arts. Nearly every region of the world has influenced American c ulture, as it is a country of immigrants, most notably the English who colonized the country beginning in the early 1600s. U.S. culture has also been shaped by the cultures of Native Americans, Latin Americans, Africans and Asians.The United States is sometimes described as a "melting pot" in which different cultures have contributed their own distinct "flavors" to American culture. Just as cultures from around the world have influenced American culture, today American culture influences the world.
